We're liking it here, at the Arboretum. As long as you don't take an axe to the trees, you can wander off the trails, roll in the grass and throw rocks. In the last few weeks, as I've tried to motivate my family to come hike with me, I've learned if I shift my words just a bit--C'mon guys let's go for an adventure, outside--everyone's happier. For the kids, hiking is too much narrow focused, straight to the top marching. I guess its the same for me too. I just didn't know it. Wandering is good, it feeds us all.
